What is Merkle Root in Blockchain ?
It is the hash of all hashes of all transactions contained in the block. It is part of the Block header. By just downloading the small block headers and merkle tree, it is possible to establish that a transaction has been accepted by Blockchain network.
There is no need to download entire Blockchain to establish validity of a transaction.
